Sketchbook Challenge!

The story behind this journal spread is quite interesting to me. I was going to do a spread for the ''Highly Prized'' theme a few weeks ago, and could not think of anything. Sure, I love the mug that I've had since I was little that I drink tea from, I love food, I love my journal and I love my little black teddy bear with hearts on it, but none of those things felt very ''highly prized'' And then it happened. My life got confusing. It made me realise that I need time for myself and for some serious self-love. And the next time I looked at the Sketchbook Challenge website, it was so clear to me what this spread needed to be about. I love this aspect of journaling so much, it feels amazing when things come to you at the right time like this, and when you read the text on the page and it expresses everything so unbelievably well even though it took you about a second to come up with the words. <3

What I Love Doing!

Whining on my journal page with a sharpie about whatever is making me upset. Then covering it with violet paint and making a list of good things that have happened today. I thought I would only be able to come up with about three, but I decided to challenge myself to come up with five. And it worked!

I love doing this, because it makes me remember all the little things that my pets have done to make me smile and other small details. This, plus some colourful tape has helped me turn a page from one of those that I try not to read when looking through my journal, into a cheerful one that will remind me that today wasn't really that bad. :)

Maybe I should start making these lists every day!

I also decided to listen to everyone's recommendations and invest in some washi tape, and I am in love!

My shower with Wreck This Journal

I decided to be very brave one day and have a shower with the journal!

Here it is all nice and dry.

Me carefully putting it under the stream of water:

The journal looking all sad and soggy. :(

I love the way the water made the pages curl and the colours bleed. Unfortunately, it also made the front cover fall off later. :(

First post!

I'm really excited about making youtube videos of my artistic adventures and blogging about them. I finally moved from my old youtube channel with an old boring username to a new, more fun one and I can't wait to be one of the people who aren't shy about showing their work to the world. I still have no idea how everyone makes videos of their journaling process though. It's so unpredictable for me, and I don't always complete a whole page, so I still need to figure out the best way to do that.

Here's me taking my Wreck This Journal for a walk. The journal smelled of grass afterwards and even had a few bugs inside, which discouraged me from doing the page that wants you to sleep with the journal, haha!
